(November 12, 2001, Hong Kong) - Thiz Technology Group Limited ("Thiz" or the "Group"; stock code: 8119) is pleased to announce its first interim results since listing. During the period under review, turnover amounted to approximately HK$6,640,000 and gross profit reached HK$2,043,000, representing an increase of 446% and 167% respectively over the corresponding period of the previous year. Loss attributable to shareholders amounted to approximately HK$3,845,000, an increase of 6.6% as compared to the same period last year owing to the increasing research and development expenditure during this period. The Board of Directors do not recommend the payment of an interim dividend for the period under review.

For the six months ended 30 September 2001, business from Linux related application software achieved 300% growth compared to the same period in 2000. During the period under review, sales of software application accounted for 88% of the total gross profit.

In the past six months, Thiz has made tremendous progress to become the leading Linux application software provider in Greater China. While the launch of Thiz Linux and Thiz Office gained an immediate entrance for the Group into the then developing Linux market, its successful listing activity also helped generate much brand awareness. Moreover, the Group announced a strategic alliance with Taiwan Well Communication Corp. (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 5479) and Shenzhen Fenghua Telecom Co. Ltd. to produce and distribute DVD set-top box, which would be run by Thiz Linux operating system, in the PRC market. Thiz also became the sole software provider for 4,000 schools in Huai Fang, Shandong Province, the PRC. Such co-operations not only broadened the Group's earning base, but also, they helped raise much attention in the Linux market.

Commenting on the interim results, Mr. Albert Li, Chairman of Thiz, said, "We are proud to see that we have established several milestones for the Group within months after being listed. Although the effect of our business expansion has not been fully reflected in our financial results, we have confidence in our performance for the remaining of the year."

The Group has continued to launch new products and new features to ensure its leading position in the industry. In October, the upgraded Thiz Linux 5.0 and Thiz Office 2.0 were launched to better suit end-users' needs and to support a number of languages for European market. As an effort to increase popularity and usage of Linux, the Group offered a software giveaway program to education institutions so as to widen its customer base and promote its products. Students can also benefit from being accustomed to Linux software at an early stage of their education. Along with the Group's effort in organizing Thiz Linux seminars to the public, all of the abovementioned marketing campaigns have contributed enormously to enhance Thiz's brand name.

The PRC market presents another lucrative expansion opportunity for the Group. With the PRC Government fully supporting the usage of Linux software, the demand for user-friendly Linux application software is tremendous. As a result, Thiz will establish a Beijing office, which is expected to commence operation in the coming quarter, to capture and provide service for the enormous PRC market.

Mr. Li concluded, "We are pleased to see that our business strategies have been successfully implemented. Based on end-users' growing enthusiastic response towards the new products, coupled with our experienced R&D team, customer oriented products and strong marketing network, we expect that second half of 2001 will continue to be promising and we will not let our supportive shareholders down."
